Minnesota’s Verne Drive-In Announces April Opening
Minnesotans rediscovered their love for drive-in theaters in 2020. The pandemic forced our indoor theaters to close temporarily, so the drive-ins saved our summer.
They were so popular, in fact, several pop-up drive-ins started opening around the state. There was a temporary drive-in that opened up in the Crossroads Center parking lot.
Well, get excited Minnesota, because another one of our beloved drive-ins announced they're opening for the season!
Verne Drive-In up in Luverne, Minnesota announced opening weekend kicks off on April 23.
They've got a giant sign in front of the outdoor theater with the words, "SPREAD THE WORD". You don't have to tell us twice, Verne Drive-In!
They shared a photo of the sign on their official Facebook page. Since being posted on March 13, the picture has been shared hundreds of times.

Facebook fans were quick to chime in with excitement!
Andrew Michael Scott wrote, "Excited to come check out a show again this year!"
Emily Sue Binkerd asked, "Do you guys plan on playing older movies weekly again like last year? I really hope so! I loved introducing my son to some of [my] favorite classics on the big screen."
We don't have an answer for you, Emily, but we hope they do too.
Adam Corria asked, "Do you guys still have the mask mandate?"
The drive-in replied, "We want everyone to do what they feel comfortable with. If you don't want to stand in line in the concession building, we will still be doing mobile ordering through FanFood."
The drive-in hasn't announced what movies they'll be showing yet. They'll announce the line-up two weeks before they're set to open.
Verne Drive-In is located at 1607 South Kniss Avenue in Luverne, MN.
