Monday kicked off a week of expected severe weather around Minnesota.

With a record high of 84 degrees in St. Cloud on Monday (the previous high was 81 degrees in 1912 and again in 1991), Minnesota's severe weather season got off to an early start. As thunder storms rolled in Monday evening and lasted through the night, many Minnesotans took a few moments to appreciate the weather and accompanying light displays. Here are some photos and videos shared at the Minnesota thread of Reddit:

"Strong to severe storms worked through the Twin Cities area around Midnight on April 5 into April 6, 2021," reads the caption of this timelapse video by Limitless Production Group LLC on Youtube. "This timelapse shows the storms working in from the west from Eagan, Minnesota. "You are also able to catch the planes flying into the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport with the planes coming in from the south-southeast before the storms arrived, then in from the southwest after the storms move through the region."
