Minnesota Woman Charged with Murder Abroad
DETROIT LAKES MISSIONARY MURDERED ABROAD
A Detroit Lakes father of five was murdered on October 25th, while he was doing missionary work in Angola, according to the Angola Press Agency.
Beau Shroyer's death is being called a 'murder-for-hire' attack. What's more unbelievable is that his wife Jackie, and two men, have been arrested in connection with his death.
The Angola Press Agency says that a security guard in Shroyer's home, and another man in his 20s have been arrested in connection with his death and that a third man is also being pursued.
MURDER-FOR-HIRE
The article says that Beau was lured to a remote area outside of the city by individuals pretending to have car trouble, where they then stabbed him to death with an American-made knife.
Police recovered that knife as evidence, along with $5,000 in Angolan Money.
The article points the finger at Jackie, saying she was behind everything. They believe she was having an affair with the security guard, and didn't want to leave the country when the mission trip came to an end. The article states that Jackie offered to pay the men $50,000 to kill Beau.
Beau's mother-in-law is in Angola taking care of the couple's five children as the investigations continue.
WORDS FROM A FAMILY MEMBER
44-year-old Beau Shroyer loved the outdoors. He was a former police officer, realtor, and missionary. His cousin Bret Shroyer said that the news is shocking and that Jackie, Beau's wife, is a part of the family. "You don't know what to believe. We're waiting for answers. That's all I can say. We're waiting on answers."
Beau's family is trying to deal with the shock of his death, and the accusations being made against Jackie, Beau's wife. Bret told a reporter about his frustrations in getting information about what was happening. "Nothing has really sat right along the way. It feels like there's something deeper that's going on here. Information isn't being shared. It's been very frustrating for us. On the one hand, we desperately want answers and we want justice, but we understand that takes time. In the meantime, we're also in shock and I don't think we've taken time to grieve."
A Go Fund Me page has been set up by Beau's sister to assist the family with funeral arrangements, finding a way to bring Beau home, and 'supporting the pursuit of justice on his behalf.'
