This Saturday is the second preseason game of the NFL season for the Minnesota Vikings as they play host to the New England Patriots. If this Saturday is like the first preseason game last Saturday, US Bank Stadium will be a buzz.

I went to my first game ever at US Bank Stadium last Saturday and was blown away with the facility and for the most part the ease of access that Vikings fans experience while they’re inside the stadium.

Are You Showing You're A Member Of Purple and Gold Nation?

Just like every other fan base, Vikings fans are feeling optimistic about this season and the success the team will have. Coming off the 14-4 mark from last year, there is a lot to be excited about. Some of that excitement is based around potential though.

There is still a lot unknown about QB1 (the starting quarterback) JJ McCarthy. The second year player had his rookie season cut short last year with an injury in the preseason. The unknown that might be there hasn’t hampered the feeling that McCarthy can led this team to a deep season run.

That was evident by the number of JJ McCarthy #9 jersey’s the fans were either wearing or buying while at the game last Saturday. As a matter of fact, if those shopping at the Locker Room merchandise store was any indication of the buzz around this team, that buzz will be more than audible by week one.

How Much Is Team Gear Costing This Year?

The crowds wanted to see some of the newest apparel that was available, some fans like to have the latest gear each year. While others were huddled around clearance rack that seemed to have quite of bit of merchandise for kids.

The amount of newly purchased hats, jerseys, t-shirts, and hoodies that were leaving that store was impressive.

The average cost of a hat was around $40, while some of the T-shirts started at around $35. The Vikings apparel stores have really cool modern designs and some nice “throw back” looks as well, which included a cool Vikings Starter jacket for the upcoming colder weather months. That one will set you back about $190.

If you’re going this weekend or to any game quite honestly, you’re likely to be surrounded by a mass of people who like you are looking for that perfect item that lets the world know you bleed purple and gold.
