Something tells me it would take another Minneapolis Miracle to make this happen.

The Minnesota Vikings are making a hard push to host not only another Super Bowl at US Bank Stadium, but also an NFL Draft. Our home team has applied to host Super Bowls in 2028, 2029 or 2030 and the NFL Draft in 2024, 2025 or 2026.

The last Super Bowl we hosted did do a lot of good for the community. Fox 9 reported:

Super Bowl LII brought in more than $370 million in new spending to Minnesota, according to a report from the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee.

There was also an economic impact study done that found the Super Bowl generated $450 million in gross local spending which was $50 million more than the original estimate.

The big problem that Minnesota hosting the Super Bowl faced was all the outdoor events. The Super Bowl happens in February, and well know how brutal Minnesota winters are. They don't care about the economic impact, or people wanting to return to the state. Minnesota winters do what they want, nothing stops them.

The weather was defined as "frigid" in February of 2018 when people from all over the country visited to watch the Patriots play the Eagles. Those temperatures and snow storms made people a little skeptical on whether or not our state would see another event of this size.

I guess at this point all the Vikings can do is try. Maybe the NFL will be gracious and give us a draft. It doesn't ALWAYS snow in April.
