The research company WalletHub did a new study to find the best places in the United States to retire. They reported that only about 23 percent of Americans feel confident they'll be able to retire. So, for those lucky enough to retire someday, where are the best places for it?

Out of 180 cities that were factored into the study, Minnesota's own Minneapolis was placed at number 9 on the list in front of Cheyenne, Wyomging.

Here are the top 10 best cities to retire;

  • #3: Scotsdale, AZ
  • #4: Charleston, SC
  • #5: Miami, FL
  • #6: Denver, CO
  • #7: Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • #8: Cape Coral, FL
  • #9: Minneapolis, MN
  • #10: Cheyenne, WY

Cities were all ranked based on 46 key metrics including affordability, quality of life, health care and affordability of recreational activities. Minneapolis got high marks, ranking 3rd in the 'activities' category and 5th in the "health care" category.
