Meeker County Farm Tractor Destroyed by Fire

COSMOS -- No one was hurt in a farm tractor fire Thursday in Meeker County, but the fire caused thousands of dollars in damage.

The sheriff's office and fire crews were called to a farm near Cosmos just before Noon.

The owner of the tractor, 40-year-old Joshua Barka of rural Litchfield, told authorities debris from crops landed on the exhaust and sparked the fire.

Damage to the machine is estimated at $40,000.
