Local Dealership Raising Money To Gift Kids Winter Gear
Mathison Motors in Clearwater launched a Go Fund Me page to help raise money to provide under privileged kids with the essential winter gear they need this year.
The car dealership calls the program The Essential 5. Their goal is to provide coats, snow-pants, mittens, hats and boots to kids who desperately need them this winter.
Mathison Motors hopes to provide the Essential 5 to students in Annandale, Maple Lake, Monticello, Clear Lake, Becker, Big Lake and the Kimball school district.
According to their Go Fund Me page, they are in the process of contacting other local school districts in the area to see if there's a need for these items as well.
They're hoping to raise up to $10,000, and they'll be matching dollar for dollar up to $2,000. This is a program they decided to bring back again this year after starting it in November 2019.
So far, they've raised nearly $600 of their overall goal. If you'd like to make a donation you can do it through their Go Fund Me page.
According to the local weather forecast for this weekend, central Minnesota is set to have its first snowfall of the year on Friday night into Saturday.
If you're in need of winter gear for a child of yours, you can contact Mathison Motors directly for more information about their Essential 5 program.
