WHAT IS IT?

This year, a new interactive history eBook is being introduced to 6th graders across Minnesota.  Northern Lights: The Story of Minnesota's Past, was initially offered in 1989 and is now in its revised second edition with more than 26,500 copies sold in 2013.

HOW DO I GET MY FREE 6TH GRADE PASS?

All 6th graders in Minnesota are eligible to recieve a 6th Grade MN History Pass from the Minnesota Historical Society.  The pass gives the children free admission to all 26  MNHS historic sites and museums during non school hours for the entire year that the student is a 6th Grader.  The pass is good for unlimited number of visits.  Parents, guardians and educators can request passes by clicking HERE, or by stopping by any MNHS historic site or museum.  The pass does not apply to field trips or to guests accompanying the 6th grade student.

The Minnesota Historical Society is a non profit educational and cultural institution that was established back in 1849.  The society collects, preserves and tells the story of Minnesota's past through museum exhibits, historic sites, educational programs and book publishings.
