Last Meal? Time is Running Short for this St. Cloud Restaurant
UPDATE:
The restaurant will be closing in a couple of weeks, so you only have a short time to grab a meal at Mongo's.
They will be closing in September. The restaurant will be closed for a few weeks for a remodel and change for new ownership. It will be a HuHot. If you are unfamiliar, it's the same type of restaurant. A mongolian grill. Same concept.
ORIGINAL STORY:
As I was scrolling through social media, as people do mindlessly, I noticed this post regarding a local restaurant announcing a change/closure. This restaurant is one that a lot of people really love, but is also one of those restaurants that you don't necessarily think of right away. It's one of those restaurants where if you are thinking of places to eat, it comes to mind, and "Hey, yeah, let's go there, love that place".
I'm talking about Mongo's Mongolian Grill. It's currently located in the Hom Furniture complex across from the Crossroad's Mall. The restaurant opened in 2004 in Winnipeg, Canada. That is still where most of their locations still are, plus the location here in St. Cloud.
If you go to Mongosgrill.com, you will see that they are still including St. Cloud as a career option.
From the comments on this post, it looks like Mongo's is closing and becoming a HuHot. This has not been completely confirmed, but it does make sense. If youi are unfamilar with HuHot it's also a Mongolian Grill restaurant. I have eaten at several of those restaurants in various cities, and it's good... but I will tell you that I hae always thought that Mongo's was a lot better. Whenever we made it back to St. Cloud, before moving back here, we had to make sure to stop into Mongo's and grab a meal.
This is a definite bummer, but at least if you like Mongolian restaurants, it's not totally going away, just going to be different. And not as good, but ok, in my opinion. You still have time to get to Mongo's until the beginning of September.
