Ladies: Event in St. Cloud this Saturday is Just for You
Saturday is the start of Firearm Deer Hunting Season in Minnesota. There will be a ton of fellas and some ladies who will be flocking to their deer stands on Saturday morning to begin the annual quest to bag the big one.
I mentioned there will be some ladies heading to the woods, but odds are there are more wives and girlfriends who will not be donning camo and orange. They’ll be doing their own thing.
For those ladies there’s an annual event coming up Saturday that is designed just for them. It’s the Hunting Widow’s Extravaganza. This event is in its 11th year.
Lunch will be available for purchase, so ladies can bond with other women who will be spending a lot of time away from their hunter or hunters if their sons or daughters hunt too.
This is also a chance to start your Christmas shopping as the backbone of this event, the craft fair, will feature 30 to 40 vendors that will feature a variety of craft items. So, while the hunt will be on in the woods, great gift ideas will be in the crosshairs of shoppers during the Hunting Widow’s Extravaganza.
But this is so much more than just a bonding and shopping event. This event also helps give back to the St. Cloud community as the proceeds from the event will go back to help support veterans in St. Cloud.
This event also raises funds for a second charitable organization in the area, as attendees will be asked to make donations to this year's chosen charity, The St. Cloud Crisis Nursery.
The Hunting Widows Extravaganza will be held at the VFW 428 location, 18th Ave. N. in St. Cloud from 9-3 on Saturday.
And one more thing, this event is open to everyone, not just those ladies whose significant others are hanging out in the woods.
