Kesha, will.i.am + Macklemore Are Most Popular Workout Songs
Looking for some new tunes to add a little extra pizzazz to your exercise routine? Spotify is here to help: The popular music streaming service has combed its users' public workout playlists and ranked the most popular songs.
As USA Today notes, more people head to the gym in January, which makes it the perfect month to try and tabulate this type of data. After analyzing nearly three million playlists, what did they discover? "Men work out to hip-hop tunes while women work out to dance tracks. ... Hip-hop artists such as Eminem, Kanye West, and Jay-Z made the playlists belonging to male Spotify users while dance tracks by Kesha, David Guetta, and Bruno Mars filled up female playlists."
Combining the top 10 songs for men and women, Spotify created a sort of unisex megaplaylist, which we've helpfully included below. Keep it handy for the next time you host a co-ed workout party, and you'll be sure to send everyone home happy.
