Central Minnesota-born comedian Jason Schommer will be performing at Pioneer Place on Fifth with a brand new hilarious and outrageous night of non-stop laughter and holiday cheer Wednesday, November 27th, at 7:30 pm.

“Happy Ha-Ha-Ha-lidays!” celebrates the holiday season in all its chaotic glory, with holiday-themed stand-up comedy by comedians Jason Schommer, and special guests  Jodie Maruska and Jesse the Shrink. You'll find it at Jason's holiday show if you need a reason to laugh this holiday season.

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY

For one night only, Wednesday, November 27th, Jason Schommer and friends return to the stage with holiday-themed comedy and music. Doors open at 7 p.m., and showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, and all seating is reserved. Tickets can be purchased online at ppfive.com or by phone at 320-227-8222. Plus, there will be holiday music! Singer and musician Katy Vernon will kick off the evening with stunning versions of classic and contemporary Christmas hits and yuletide favorites, appearing throughout the evening.

ABOUT JASON SCHOMMER

According to a recent press release, Jason Schommer is a standup comedian and storyteller who spent two years as the opening act for comedy legend Louie Anderson in Las Vegas and toured with Louie regularly. Comedy icon Louie Anderson said, “Jason is funny, clever, smart, and on his way to the big time!”. As a stand-up comic, Jason has performed in clubs and theaters all over the USA as well as Canada and for the US Military in Japan. A regular performer at The Moth, Jason has won numerous Story Slam competitions and was invited to perform at the GrandSlam at The Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul in 2016 and 2023 and in 2018 at The Guthrie Theater and The Pantages Theater in 2022. Jason has made multiple appearances nationally on The Moth Radio Hour as well as featured on the podcast. Jason has worked in New York City for The Rosie O’Donnell Show and has worked behind the scenes in Hollywood as a stand in for Louie Anderson on the FX television series Baskets. In 2017 Jason released his first live comedy album “Confessions of a Local Celebrity”. Most recently Jason went viral on TikTok by starring in a video with Dave Ryan from KDWB and hitting over 5.3 million views. Jason has also been featured on The Morning Show and The Jason Show with Jason Matheson on FOX9 and Twin Cities Live on KSTP.

ABOUT JODIE MARUSKA

Jodie Maruska may have grown up in Minnesota, but using the restroom at Cabella’s is as close to camping as she gets! After being asked for her autograph the first night she performed standup, Jodie knew she had found her calling. 20+ years later, she is a comedy veteran who has performed across the country in clubs, at events, theaters, casinos, colleges and yes, even a couple of backyards. In the Twin Cities, she can be seen regularly at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy and the Comedy Corner Underground. In 2017, she made her debut appearance in the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, where she was thrilled to be a part of the “Best of the Festival” show! Jodie appeals to audiences of all ages and uses her familiar “Minnesota-nice” demeanor to great, unexpected comedic effect. Just don’t ask her to go fishing!

ABOUT JESSE THE SHRINK

Jesse the Shrink is a bona fide licensed therapist & standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner workings & often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure. After hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again! Jesse is the producer & host of Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, the 420 Standup Comedy Show, & the St Paul Art Crawl Comedy Show. He’s also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, founder of the Funniest Person in St Paul contest, & runs a weekly comedy open mic at Gambit Brewing. ABOUT KATE VERNON

Katy Vernon is a London-born singer-songwriter who is based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her resume highlights include being named the Winner of Best Acoustic Performer of 2020 by City Pages, the Eric Stokes songwriting award, and the Kerrville Folk Best New Song Finalist award. Her most recent record, ‘Suit Of Hearts,’ was named album of the year by Ukulele magazine and landed on several local best-of lists. She was also a finalist in Ukulele magazine for Best International Ukulele Player! In addition to playing solo, she also just launched a feminist rock band called Favourite Girl. They just released their self-titled debut song. In addition to her music career, she also sits on the board of the mental wellness organization Dissonance curates several local concert series, and sings the role of Agnetha in an all-star ABBA tribute band called ABBAsolutely Fab!
