Jennifer Hudson is encouraging you to get healthy. The Oscar winner and former American Idol champ opened the Jennifer Hudson Weight Watchers Center in her hometown of Chicago yesterday. Jennifer credits Weight Watchers for being able to lose 80 pounds after giving birth to her son, David in 2009.

Jennifer told Self Magazine,

"Four days after my cesarean section, I began walking 30 minutes every day. It was my therapy, my moment to myself, and it was all I could do. I figured, me walking is better than me sitting on the couch. Even if I can't climb a mountain or do 100,000 push-ups, these steps matter, and they're leading somewhere. I'm prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!"

Portions of the center's revenue will be donated to a foundation in memory of Hudson's late nephew, Julian King. He was shot and killed in October 2008, along with Jennifer's mother and brother.

What a great motivational story. To come back through all of the tragedy and to love life is an inspiration. Now only if that motivation lasted long enough for me to get off the couch!
