Are These The Best Onion Rings In St. Cloud??

I am apparently in an onion ring phase, or, as my sister-in-law would say, I am in 'my onion ring era.'

For whatever reason, I have been craving- then consuming- onion rings lately. I have had success cutting out sodas, sugar and other sweets but I remain powerless to the draw of a good, deep-fried ring of onion.

7 WEST TAP HOUSE ONION RINGS

Wanting to find the best of the best, I did a simple Google search for the 'best onion rings in St. Cloud, MN.' The top result was 7 West Tap House in Downtown St. Cloud. So, last week my wife and I went there for the very first time and had a great experience!

The onion rings were really good at 7 West and I had no complaints. I was confident in declaring them the best I had had to that point, but were they really the BEST in all of St. Cloud? I wasn't ready to crown them just yet.

HOUSE OF PIZZA APPETIZERS

Fast-forward a few days later and my family went to House of Pizza (thanks, Value Connection) for a 'za. We ordered a side of fries for the kids to pick at while we waited for our main dish and also impulsively added an order of onion rings, which we had never tried at HOP.

DEAL: HOUSE OF PIZZA ON VALUE CONNECTION 

I have to tell you.... these onion rings were THE BOMB. Man, they were good. Thick but not too thick, crunchy but not too flaky and absolutely stuffed with onion, unlike some onion rings that seem more batter than onion.

They were SO good that my two-year-old was two-fisting them, completely dunked in ranch, of course!

Of course, the pizza did not disappoint, either! It is House of Pizza, after all. But I would definitely recommend those onion rings and I am declaring them the winner of Best Onion Rings in St. Cloud until proven otherwise!
