Something To Crow About! Red Rooster Tops Again In Twin Cities Contest
A Central Minnesota bar has done it again. Not only did the Red Rooster Bar in Genola take a People's Choice award at a Twin Cities Bloody Mary contest, but it also achieved something that has eluded them up until this past weekend: a win from the judges.
Award-Winning Bloody Marys Can Be Found Just Off The Soo Line
The Red Rooster bar in Genola has added some more hardware to its walls. The bar entered the Twin Cities Bloody Mary Festival that took place over the weekend and came home with two awards. One award has eluded the bar since it started competing in the Bloody Mary contests: a judged win.
The bar on Sunday announced that they had taken home a first-place People's Choice award, which they have done "several times," according to owner Amy Guck. It was the judged award that meant the most. The bar took home "Best Original Bloody Mary" with the bar's Bacon Bloody. The Best Original award is given out by the competition's judges, rather than the popular vote that awards the people's choice award.
Something To Crow About
It wasn't just those awards that were won at the competition; the bar also took 2nd place in the first session's People's Choice award.

The bar competed against mostly Twin Cities-based competition, including places like Hell's Kitchen, Pizza Luce, and Northern Tap House.
You can see the full list of results from the competition on the Bloody Mary Festival social media page here.
