
Another Scam Warning Issued To Minnesota Residents
Oh, look - another scam! The scams are truly never-ending these days. They are always popping up everywhere and everyday.
There was even a recent scam where people were being targeted while buying an online fishing license! That's just terrible.

Now, there's yet another one that has been reported in Minnesota. This scam could happen anywhere. It could even happen right here in Duluth!
This scam was reported just a few hours from our neck of the woods and I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up here any day now.
Wire Transfer Scam Reported In Independence, Minnesota
The City Of Independence shared a warning to locals on Facebook, sharing details of how the scam works and warning Minnesotans in the vicinity.

The scariest part of all is that city officials acknowledge that the scam looks real, and that it seems like it legitimately is from the city! That is usually a dead giveaway but if something seems real like this, you're more likely to fall for it.
How This Wire Transfer Scam Works
According to city officials, people in the city have been a target of the scams, asking them to pay additional fees using a wire transfer. Those targeted are residents filling out planning applications.

If you've never filled out one of these applications or are new to the process, you might think paying extra fees is normal. Unfortunately, this is a scam and there is no way to get your money back.
There's so many scams going around these days that it can be hard to tell what is real and what is fake. When I bought a house, there were a ton of scams I almost fell for because I was new at the whole thing so I get why someone would fall for something like this.
