Are Minnesota + Wisconsin Considered Innovative States?
Another day, another study. The latest study involving Minnesota and Wisconsin had some pretty surprising results.
WalletHub released a new study on Wednesday (March 19th), giving each state in the country a score based on how innovative they are - or not.
Recently, just ahead of St. Patrick's Day, WalletHub analysts named the best cities in the country to celebrate the holiday - and a few Minnesota cities did pretty well!
You can keep that in mind for next March! In the meantime, you may be disappointed at where we ranked in this most recent study. Sigh.

Minnesota Is...Not That Innovative
Sadly, Minnesota did not do too well on this most recent study, failing to even crack the top twenty on the list of most innovative states. Minnesota came in at number twenty-one.

Minnesota did well, coming in the top five for eight-grade math and science performance. However, we failed to do the same in other categories here, like the number of STEM professionals in the state and share of technology companies.
As For Wisconsin?
Wisconsin also did not thrive in this study, coming in just behind Minnesota at number twenty-five, falling right in the middle between the most and least innovative states.

As for the most innovative place, those would be the District of Columbia, Massachusetts and California. The least? Mississippi, Louisiana and West Virginia. I guess I don't really think of innovative when I think of Minnesota but we have other things going for us!
