Vikings Consider Adam Thielen’s Return On His Birthday

It's not often I gasp when I read a sports headline, but that's what happened this morning when I saw this one! There are some legitimate sources that are saying the Vikings want Adam Thielen back as a wide receiver. I think everyone in Minnesota wants to get our hometown hero back in purple.

It turns out today is Adam Thielen's birthday, too! What a birthday present that would be, to come back home to the Minnesota Vikings! I still think the 35-year-old has a few years left in his tank.

Sports Illustrated has sources that say the Vikings have reached out to the Carolina Panthers to talk about a trade to get Thielen back on the roster. Right now the only for sure wide receiver in the Vikings locker room is Justin Jefferson (who's been battling a hamstring injury.)

It would make sense to bring Thielen back. He knows the offense and he's played with Justin Jefferson. He's been coached by Kevin O'Connell, and the guy knows Minnesota. Why? Because he's from here!

Thielen has been a Minnesota Vikings fan favorite. He went to high school in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was undrafted, but attended a rookie tryout and evaluation session with the Vikings. He was then signed to a three-year deal by the Vikings in 2013. He earned a spot on the roster in 2014, and his career took off after that.

The Vikings released Thielen in 2023 as part of a salary cap move. It was a sad day for many Minnesota Vikings fans.
