Attendance Numbers For Opening Day Of The 2025 Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair has its first weekend in the books and if you're like me, your social media was flooded with friends eating and drinking all the things.

I am going this weekend so I don't have to wait too long to do the same but I definitely was drooling quite often seeing all the fries, donuts and beers people were drinking all in the name of the famous Minnesota fair!

Some people don't get the hype but all of us do, right? It has been named the best fair in the country time and time again - and even earlier this month!

The opening day at the fair is always a huge deal and there are people that are there right when the gates open! Now, we know just how many people attended opening day and the answer might surprise you!

It was a busy weekend with pretty perfect conditions for going to the fair! I have been there before when it's been downpouring and also when it's been unbearably hot so it seemed to be pretty good weather overall.

Weather aside, the Minnesota State Fair organizers have shared opening day attendance numbers! Drumroll, please....Here's how many people attended the fair: 137,148 people! That's a lot of foods on a stick.

2025 Minnesota State Fair Opening Day Almost Breaks Record

While so far, up until the time of writing, attendance has grown everyday for the big event, the opening day attendance for this year was just about 1,500 people away from breaking the attendance record for the fair.

That record, which is 138,875 people, was set just last year. So while it has been the least busy day of the fair so far, it is right in line where things usually are - and then some! We will see what the rest of the fair brings.
