It’s Maple Syrup Season In Central Minnesota
The annual Maple Syrup Festival at Saint John's University is about to get underway! On Saturday, March 24th you're invited to the Sugar Shack to collect sap and participate in syrup cooking from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.!
It's the one time a year the public can sample Saint John's special homemade maple syrup because you can't buy it anywhere. The only way to get the sweet treat is to be gifted it by the university!
In addition to the syrup collecting, you'll be able to take a horse-drawn ride, watch some demonstrations and sample the maple syrup on top of an ice cream sundae! You're encouraged to dress for the weather and leave dogs and pets at home.
If you can't make it to the March 24th event, there'll be a second opportunity on Saturday, April 7.
You can register in advance online to save $1 on your participation fee or choose same day registration at full price. Tickets are $10 for adults and kids ages 4 to 17 cost $5. The event is free to students and kids ages 3 and under.
