It’s Free Corn Feed Day At Benton County Fair
Did someone say FREE corn? Yep!! Who doesn't love corn on the cob? Especially when it's Minnesota grown.
There's a free corn feed today only at the Benton County Fair. If you'd like to sink your teeth into a delicious ear of golden corn, you're in luck.
The corn feed starts at 3 p.m. and its hosted by the Benton-Sherburne Corn Growers Association. It's a tradition they've been doing since roughly 2011.
In years past they've boiled, buttered and salted about 1,000 ears of corn at each event and served it up to the public. Mmmm!! Yes, our mouths are watering just reading that.
It's a nice event they host for the public and it also helps promote agriculture and the local corn growers.
In a past interview with WJON News, board member Glenn Kaschmitter said, "It's an exciting time. There's a lot of people that want free sweet corn and it tastes good,"
Yes, there are a lot of people that want free corn. If you want to get a free ear of corn for yourself, you'll want to head over to the agriculture area.
So, our best advice is to get there right away. And, you might want to bring floss for you and your friends.
The Benton County Fair, located in Sauk Rapids is underway now through Sunday, August 8.
