The Minnesota State Baseball Tournament gets going this week in St. Cloud and in St. Paul. For one Minnesota family, a streaming subscription is required in order for the family to watch both a father and son coaching in the state tournament on two different teams.

Meet Tom and Ethan Imdieke, both passionate baseball fans and coaches. Tom is an assistant coach with the Totino-Grace Eagles, based out of Fridley and his son Ethan is the head coach for the Blake School with campuses in both Minneapolis and Hopkins.

Earlier this week Tom and Ethan got together to have a scrimmage between their two respective teams, and a local media company in the Twin Cities stopped by to talk to some players and also highlight the uniqueness of having both a father and son coaching two different teams in the state tournament.

Totino-Grace is the 4 seed in Class AAA and plays Little Falls this afternoon in Chaska, that game is scheduled for a 5:30 start, but that can change based on the games being played ahead of Little Falls and Totino-Grace. Little Falls comes into the game as the #5 seed.

Blake is in Class AA and will be playing Rockford at 10 this morning at Joe Faber field in St. Cloud. Blake comes in as a random draw and they are facing the #2 seed.

I've known Ethan since he was in Kindergarten with my younger sister, and I've watched him play baseball for the Tri-City Shark, which his dad Tom coached during the summer months after graduating high school.

Wouldn't matching state titles be a great father's day gift?
