More than 6,000 air fryers have been recalled after reports of a series of incidents involving fire, burn, and smoke.

The recall impact involves two models of air fryers sold by Lake Forest, California-based Secura.

The air fryers were purchased on the company's website or at Amazon.com.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Secura SAF-53 and SAF-53D models have experienced issues with a wire connection that can cause the appliance to overheat.

To date, nine incidents of the air fryers catching fire, burning, and smoking have been reported. No injuries have been reported.

The fryers were sold for $90 between May of 2019 and October of 2020. Each air fryer included in the recall will have a date code of 1901, 1903 or 1904 on the bottom of the appliance and will feature the Secura logo in black with a silver accent near the top.

If you own one of these fryers, you can return it to Secura in exchange for a $45 Amazon gift card or a free product replacement.
