Interactive Map Shows Where Kids Can Get Free Meals in MN
This week's Spring Break will probably go down in the books as one of the most (un)memorable ever.
As Minnesota schools go into their second week shut down due to the COVID-19 virus, students who usually rely on their school for daily meals are at the mercy of whoever is willing to step in and fill that need. Minnesota anti-hunger organization Hunger Solutions has created an interactive map displaying where children can receive a free meal across the state.
Helpful as the visual map is, we previously put together our own more exhaustive list of Central Minnesota restaurants and businesses offering free meals which you can view here. Also in dire need of help right now are local food shelves. Hunger Solutions has put together a list of 5 Ways to Help Food Shelves During COVID-19, including:
1. Donate Money
2. Volunteer
3. Donate Your Stash
4. Donate Your Boxes and Bags
5. Ask Your Neighbors to Help and Make One Trip
