I was in Wisconsin over the weekend at a Jeff Tweedy concert in Sheboygan. I drove right through Manitowoc County, made infamous by the Netflix documentary series "Making A Murderer." I was seriously addicted to the ten part docu-series--and couldn't pass up the opportunity to drive by the property. When in Rome, right?

My fiance Dave and I felt super creeped out while we were driving through the town of Two Rivers, WI. It seemed like a pretty dingy farm town. We drove up a super steep hill to get to the property which is located along Avery Road. It was a cloudy and breezy day which set a freaky tone. Something just seemed really off about the whole thing.

The Avery family's auto salvage business is still alive and well despite the brutal murder of Teresa Halbach, which was committed by their son, on the property. The infamous site was hard to miss because there is a giant sign advertising the business right on the property next to Avery Road.

Dave and I started to drive up the dirt road and then we decided to stop. We were debating whether we wanted to get out of the car. Both of us were pretty shaken up about the whole thing and felt like we shouldn't have stopped. We could see the salvage yard, Steven's trailer and the site where they found Teresa's remains. We decided to stay in the car, snap a few pictures and leave. We chickened out and stayed in the car. We were only there for about 60 seconds.

I have to say it was one of the weirdest things we've ever done and we definitely don't need to ever do that again.
