I Held My Dog For The First Time Two Years Ago Today [Watch]
It isn't his official adoption day (that is March 24th) but two years ago on this day I met and held my dog Norman for the very first time.
Norman was brought into the Tri-County Humane Society on March 21st, 2017 by the neighbor of his previous owner. The owner had Alzheimer's and cancer and didn't even know they had two dogs. He was brought in with what we assumed was his brother, they looked very similar, and was a matted, knotted, tangled mess. His fur was so thick that they couldn't get to his skin to give him his vaccinations.
Thanks to a rock star volunteer groomer (Shelby, who works at La Dee Dogs and we still go to) Norman and his brother were looking like new dogs in no time! The next morning, Norman, who at the time was named Scrappy Doo, was brought into the radio station in hopes of finding him a new home. I knew the second I saw him, his home would be with me.
I started crying last night when I re-watched the video of me holding my little fur loaf for the first time. Being a pet parent is the most rewarding thing I have ever done, and I can't imagine my life without him. There are so many wonderful pets looking for loving homes at the Tri-County Humane Society. You can see them here, and visit them in person this weekend!
