Hundreds Celebrate Life, Show Support at ‘Relay for Life’ [VIDEO]

SARTELL -- It was a night of hope and inspiration in Sartell on Friday at the 2015 Relay for Life.

Hundreds enjoyed a perfect night as they came out to show their support at the largest annual fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.

"It's a celebration of life," says Master of Ceremonies Pete Hanson, who is a cancer survivor.

"When people think [about] cancer, they think 'doom and gloom' but at this event, you can't help but feel the good energy and the magic," Hanson says.

Cancer survivor Brenda Scepaniak spoke at the event's opening ceremony, sharing her inspiring story about her and her family's struggles with the disease.

"Tonight was very uplifting -- to know I'm not alone," Scepaniak says.

"It's very supportive, to know that nobody's going to stop fighting for cancer."

The Relay for Life raises money as survivors, supporters, and caregivers walk around the track at Sartell Middle School from 6:00 p.m Friday to 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
