Holdingford Woman Seriously Hurt in Avon Crash
AVON -- A Holdingford woman was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital after losing control of her SUV on an icy roadway.
Avon Police Chief Corey Nellis says the incident happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 9 near 4th Street northwest in Avon.
Twenty-one-year-old Lindsey Urbashich of Holdingford lost control as she was driving northbound on County Road 9, entered the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a truck driven by 52-year-old Daniel Beckius of Avon.
Beckius was wearing his seatbelt and was not hurt in the crash. Urbasshich was not wearing her seatbelt, she was treated on the scene for her injuries and later airlifted to North Memorial.
Nellis says alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
