It's a little weird to think about Halloween when temperatures this week are going to be in the 80's. If you're still trying to hold on to summer, keep on keeping on. But, if you're a fall lover like I am, here's an event worth getting excited for. You're definitely going to want to bookmark this.

Hemker Park & Zoo in Freeport announced on Facebook they'll be hosting their annual Boo At The Zoo event again this year! On Saturday, October 3 you and your children are invited to dress up in costume and trick or treat around the zoo!

I love that they host this event early in October so the weather is a little more mild! You'll actually get to see kids in their costumes and not covered up under layers of winter gear--fingers crossed.

Of course, it wouldn't be a celebration at the zoo without the animals! You'll be able to watch the animals munch on their Halloween snacks while you enjoy yours. Speaking of snacks, hot food will also be for sale. Oh, and there's also going to be a farmers market!

Keep in mind when you're planning your costume, this event isn't a scary one. Keep things light and fun for the littles! Discounted tickets are $10 per person for anyone two and up who dresses in costume. The event goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
