My wife and I moved into our current apartment back in July. A quaint unit in an old house circa early 1900's, our biggest issue at the time was staying cool. With temps at the time nearing one hundred and no central air, a window unit air conditioner was the best purchase we made all summer.

Now, with temperatures beginning to drop to freezing overnight, our dilemma is the opposite - keeping warm. The unit has five Victorian-era steam radiators spread throughout which only add to the charm. However, with no buttons, switches, knobs or dials on them, we don't know how to run them! My wife has noticed that the radiator in the kitchen runs at night, while the ones in the living room, bathroom and bedroom don't. Unfortunately, we can't tell what's different about that one that it does heat and the others don't.

At the cost of sounding like a hopeless Millennial, if you have any knowledge or understanding of these ancient things my wife and I would appreciate it!
