Heat Advisory Issued For Central Minnesota
The National Weather Serviced issued a Heat Advisory for parts of central Minnesota until 8 p.m. Friday. Cities included in the advisory are; St. Cloud, Foley, Elk River, Cambridge, Center City, Madison, Benson, Montevideo, Willmar, Osceola, Rice Lake and Ladysmith.
The NWS says those cities can expect heat indices of 95 to 105 degrees this afternoon. If you're in the advisory areas you're asked to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
The NWS cautions if you work or spend time outside, you should avoid working during midday. Perform tasks early morning or evening. You're also encouraged to wear light weight, loose clothing.
Signs of heat exhaustion include; confusion, dark-colored urine, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, headache, muscle cramping and nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. You may also feel weak, have heavy sweating, have a weak or rapid pulse, feel thirsty and have clammy skin.
