Anoka, Minnesota is the Halloween capital of the World--or at least Congress proclaimed them to be in 1938! According to their website the city was the first of its kind to host organized Halloween activities by community leaders.

So, what puts them above everyone else in terms of their Halloween spirit? Well, I'm glad you asked.

Every year Anoka hosts a variety of festive events throughout the entire month of October put on by volunteers. It takes and entire year to plan their month long celebration! Some of the events include; a pumpkin weigh off, Halloween softball tournament, scarecrow contest, adult pumpkin carving contest, Knights of Columbus haunted house, murder mystery, pumpkin bowl, a house decorating contest, Halloween carnival and so much more!

They really take their holiday seriously! The cool thing about their obsession with Halloween is some of the proceeds go to student scholarships and also raises money for their schools. If you're looking to step up your Halloween game this year, you might want to check out Anoka!
