RICE -- Central Minnesota's biggest rock music festival is taking the year off.

Halfway Jam organizers announced Saturday on their Facebook page the concert will be cancelled.

The Henry family started the three-day rock festival and owns the land in Rice where it takes place. Family spokesman Lance Muyres, says they have decided to take a break this year to rebuild and restructure the event. He adds they do plan to have the concert return in 2018.

This summer would have been the 14th year for the event.
