COLD SPRING -- Everyone's favorite Oger is making his way to the performance stage today (Thursday) in Cold Spring.

The Great Northern Theatre Company will he showing it's production of "Shrek the Musical" to celebrate their 25th Anniversary.

Co-director Leigh Ann Davis says they've been working on the show since early June.

"We had auditions, got everyone in their parts and started working. We held 27 official practices before we open," says Davis.

The show is similar to the 2001 Dreamworks production staring Mike Meyers. Davis says while they have changed a few things, they tried to keep it as similar to the original as possible.

"I think anytime you're putting on a play that has had a movie out their, you do try to put as much towards how the movie was because that's what the audience is looking for," says Davis.

Show times will run tomorrow through Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Rocori High School Auditorium.

Tickets for the show are $17 for adults, $13 for seniors and $10 for students.

Great Northern Theatre Company was formed in 1991 to help dedicate the Rocori High School Gym.
