Granite City Food & Brewery in St. Cloud announced on their Facebook page today they will be offering free meals to hungry kids while school is shut down due to COVID-19.

Governor Tim Walz announced on Sunday schools across the state will be temporarily shutting down to control the spread of COVID-19. Some people have brought up concerns about how students in struggling households were going to get access to food while school isn't in session.

In an effort to help families who are struggling to provide food for their children while school is out of session, the restaurant will be giving every kid a free lunch that contains a turkey sandwich, chips and applesauce. It's free with no other purchase necessary.

If you're interested in redeeming the offer, visit Granite City Food and Brewery in St. Cloud and ask for the manager. They'll be 'glad to make it happen."
