Free Starbucks Coffee Throughout December For Frontline Workers
I'm a coffee lover, but sadly, I'm not a frontline worker. But, great news for you if you are one!
Throughout the entire month of December, Starbucks announced they'll be giving out free coffee for frontline workers!
So, what counts as a frontline worker? Great question. According to Starbucks they're; doctors, nurses, public health workers, pharmacists, dispatchers, firefighters, paramedics, police officers, dentists, dental hygienists, mental health workers, social workers, hospital staff and active-duty military members.
Starbucks says they're, "committed to caring for the health and well-being of our partners and customers and playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders."
According to the chain's official news release, you can redeem your free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) by placing your order and letting the Starbucks employee know you're a frontline worker. They'll ask to see your work ID and that's it--you get a free cup of coffee.
Starbucks vice president Virginia Tenpenny wrote, “We want to show our deep gratitude for those who support and protect us every day with a small gesture of kindness and a cup of coffee.”
Starbucks has given out over 2 million cups of coffee according to their website. They actually ran this same free cup of coffee for frontline workers program when the pandemic first started in the spring of 2020.
The free coffee for frontline workers is valid now through December 31, 2020.
The coffee chain will also be donating $100,000 to National Alliance on Mental Illness. They also mention in their news release they plan to surprise 50,000 frontline workers with care packages and gift cards.
