Stearns Electric Association (SEA) is holding a free drive-thru member appreciation event on Saturday, August 15 at the Freeport Community Center.

Typically in the past, they've held a customer appreciation pancake feed. But,this year due to the pandemic, they're serving up donuts instead. SEA is calling the event, Donut Dash. It's their way of thanking their members by giving them free breakfast.

According to their Facebook event page switching up their annual tradition was a hard call, "It was a very tough decision, but the health and safety of our members and our employees is most important. We know it's not ideal, but we hope you will still join us for our Donut Dash."

The plan is to revert back to their annual pancake feed next summer. SEA will be serving up a variety of doughnuts from several local bakeries including Albany Home Bakery, Belgrade Bakery, Cold Spring Bakery, Little Falls Bakery and Deli as well as Melrose Bakery. They will also have milk provided by Stony Creek Diary.

Each vehicle will receive a six pack of doughnuts. Kids ages two to 18 will also get a bag of school supplies for free. The kids must be present at the time to redeem the offer.

They'll be serving up the doughnuts, milk and school supplies Saturday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on a first come, first serve basis. So, mark your calendar and get ready for some free breakfast!

The Freeport Community Center is located at 307 7th Street SE in Freeport.
