The Sartell city council voted last night (Monday) to allow food trucks in the city. After months of debate, the Sartell city council unanimously approved the ordinance that would allow food trucks to operate in the city. The ordinance went through a few revisions before the final decision was agreed upon by the Economic Development Committee, Planning Commission and members of the City Council.

Food Trucks must obtain a license, and abide by the following:

-Park on all eligible streets (must be 50 feet from an intersection)
-Have no exterior signs (which are not painted on the truck)
-Operating hours 7:00 am to 11:00 pm

The council also voted that food trucks need to be 50 feet away from existing restaurants. However, the food trucks can park in business parking lots, or private property with permission from the owners. The ordinance will go into effect this Friday, June 13th.
