Minnesotans are doing their part to shelter in place and practice social distancing. If you're wondering if anyone in your area has COVID-19 or symptoms associated with the virus, you can find out using this online tool.

It's a website called COVID Near You, created by Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Every day you can log onto the website, enter in your age and date of birth as well as your zip code. Then, give a quick health update that let's the database know if you're feeling well.

The hope is that, with your health contributions, the site can update people in real time and track the virus as symptoms start occurring. I entered in my zip code, 56377, and found that no one in my area has reported COVID symptoms or taken a COVID test within the last two weeks.

Throughout central Minnesota, the site has found reports of symptoms in St. Cloud, St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids, Royalton, Albany, Princeton, Monticello and Elk River. However, no tests have been administered in those areas.
