My in-laws came to visit this weekend and they brought a bar for my basement with them. Best visit, ever? I think so.

My father-in-law, Gary, and his dad built this bar and two more just like it, out of black walnut and part of their barn (the front), years ago. When Gary moved out of his old house, into his parents farm house (where one of the bars already sits) he left this bar at the old house.

It came up that I wanted a bar in my basement (duh) and then the idea came up to try and get this beast of a bar back and toss it in my house. In comes my mother-in-law, Maureen. She's on a mission to get that bar back... and she did.

After some negotiations with the former owner, the bar is back in the family and this past Saturday night, we broke that solid bar in. Cousins, aunts, neighbors they all came over and my basement smelled like a brewery the next morning. It was glorious.

And while trying to get ready for the opening of the new bar, Gary and I attempted to change the toilet SEAT on the downstairs toilet. That didn't work. The old toilet must have been in there 40-years or more... it was yellow.

When I went to loosen the bolts on the old one, I cracked the entire toilet bowl and part of the tank... a flood came rushing out. So, with a new bar, comes a new toilet. Now you can have a drink and use the bathroom in luxury.
