Popular chocolate candy M&M's -- owned by Twin Cities-based Mars Retail Group -- has announced an expansion of its exclusive experience stores. The Mall of America is one of three new locations set to join other high-traffic centers including Times Square, New York; The Strip, Las Vegas; Leicester Square, London; and Shanghai, China. Orlando, Florida and Berlin, Germany are the other two new locations set to open.

"We're really excited," The Star Tribune quotes Patrick McIntyre, director of global retail at Mars Retail Group. "Mall of America is a fantastic opportunity for an M&M experiential store."

Mars Retail Group initially considered Chicago for its Midwest location before settling on the spacious MOA and state of origin, Minnesota. Each store has a unique personality, and the Mall of America location will pay homage to the Midwest and Minnesota culture.

The MOA M&M's experience store will fill the 24,000 square foot, two-story space formerly home to the American Girl store. The store will join the MOA's constantly rotating list of unique experiences available, like the LEGO and Crayola stores, FlyOver Experience and Canadian Goose's cold room. Other new vendors committed to opening at MOA this year include Guy Fieri's Chicken Guy and Duck Donuts.
