About a month ago, the guys from Elk River's Aegir Brewing Company returned from a trip to Iceland.

While there, they attended Iceland's annual craft beer festival and participated in their first ever collaboration with another brewery coincidentally named Ægisgarður í Ægir Brugghúsi.

This weekend, Aegir Brewing Co. celebrates their one-year anniversary. In addition to a great lineup of special events, activities and beer releases, they'll be releasing the same beer they collaborated on with Iceland's Aegir Brugghusi!

Called LOKASENNA ÆPA, the beer is "a session IPA with some haze to it" and brewed with a special ingredient -- "meadow herb" or "meadow sweet," an herb that only grows in the Northern Hemisphere and has a sort of chamomile tea taste to it.

Aegir Brewing Co. will release their Icelandic collaboration beer Friday, March 22 in the Elk River taproom. For more details about their one-year celebration, follow them on Facebook here. For more about their time in Iceland, read more here.
