Ed Sheeran Breaks Record First Set 30 Years Ago
We're not even a quarter of the way into 2018, and our favorite redhead has broken another record.
The "Shape of You" singer kicks off an 18-show tour of Australia and New Zealand tomorrow (Friday, March 2), and he's already broken a record set over 30 years ago -- one million tickets sold. The previous record set was back in 1986 by British rock band Dire Straits, who sold 950,000 tickets on their tour of the Land Down Under.
Ed has now blasted past that, selling out most of his 18 shows in 7 cities and besting the previous 14 concerts between the two countries by AC/DC back in 2010.
Ed's North American tour will kick off August 18 in California and includes stops at the Fargodome October 17 and US Bank Stadium October 20.
