Detergent Bottles Recalled Due To Bacterial Contamination

WOOLITE RECALL

Over 16,000 items have been affected by this recent recall of Woolite, according to a recent news article.

Woolite Delicates laundry detergent was sold on Amazon.com, and the recall involves 50-ounce bottles of the product. The price of the detergent was between $14 and $17 and was sold in January of 2025.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning that this product may contain "Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water."

SERIOUS INFECTION POSSIBLE

If you or someone in your family has a weakened immune system or wears an external medical device, you could develop a serious infection by coming in contact with this detergent product. 'The bacteria can enter the body through the eyes or a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria,' says the CPSC alert.

The product comes in a pink and white container. The lot codes affected include the following:

REFUNDS AVAILABLE

If you have purchased any of these products and want a refund, you need to take the following steps:

1. Write your name and "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the back of the product.
2. Take a photo with the UPC and lot code visible.
3. Email the photo to consumercare_USA@reckitt.com.
4. Once you receive your refund, make sure that you dispose of the product properly.
5. Proper disposal: Close the bottle tightly and place it in a trash container.
6. You should NOT empty the product before disposing of it.
7. Please do not try to recycle the product bottle.
