This should be a warning to all women who wear lipstick or want to try a new shade at the department store!

The fan, Starkeema Greenidge, was approached by a woman from M.A.C. Cosmetics and applied a sample of Rihanna's lipstick called RiRi Woo to her lips. The lipstick might be fabulous, but when she woke up the next morning,

"My whole lip was irritated and swollen."

Not a good sign! She went to the doctor and she found out the not so good news, she now has herpes. According to the lawsuit, the rep did not use a sterile applicator but instead applied the lipstick straight from the tube after it had already touched the lips of heaven knows how many others!

The woman is suing MAC (and not Rihanna) for unspecified damages.

I don't blame her, but this is one of those stories that you don't think it could or would ever happen to you until it does. Whenever you are applying makeup that is not your own, use a sterile applicator. If someone wants to apply it to your face without one, don't do it! I personally NEVER use the sample makeup at department stores for this reason. You don't know who used it before you. Did they put the makeup on without an applicator? Even if they don't and you do, you could still get whatever is lurking on top. EW!
