This Popular Cereal Brand Has Just Released New Protein Options
I'm surprised that we haven't seen this come out sooner, but alas, it has arrived. Cheerios has come up with a new cereal line, offering 8 grams of protein per serving, and they come in three tasty varieties.
I had heard that Cheerios were going to be available as a protein cereal, but after looking for them for a month, I came up empty-handed; that is, until I went shopping at Wal-Mart on Friday.
THEY'VE ARRIVED!
Much to my surprise, there they were. The first item in the cereal aisle.
The variations come in three flavors: Strawberry, Cinnamon, and what I thought was going to be everyone's favorite, Cookies and Cream. The cereal claims to have 8 grams of protein per serving, so I was anxious to try it.

TASTE-TESTING
I only bought two boxes to try, which were the strawberry-flavor Cheerios and the Cookies and Cream-flavored Cheerios. There are a lot of Cinnamon cereals out there, so I figured I could imagine what the Cinnamon Protein Cheerios tasted like.

MY FAVORITE IS...
After conducting my at-home test, I discovered that the Strawberry Protein Cheerios are my favorite at the moment. They reminded me of Frankenberry cereal from years gone by. Remember Count Chocula? Boo-Berry? and Frankenberry? (Do they still make those?) I don't know if they are still available, but I remember wanting them as a kid. The new strawberry Cheerios Protein has that same fruity flavor as Frankenberry cereal, minus the marshmallows.
WHAT WILL YOU PICK AS YOUR FAVORITE?
Since my kids are all cookies and cream fanatics when it comes to candy, I figured that would be their favorite. I haven't heard their opinions yet, but I tried the Cookies and Cream Cheerios and didn't find anything spectacular about them. Maybe it was because I ate a bowl of them immediately after having a bowl of the strawberry-flavored Cheerios. I didn't hate them, but they just didn't stand out to me.
I packed some dry Cheerios as snacks, because I'm always looking for protein. Will you try the new Cheerios Protein cereal?
