Black bears continue to be active in Central Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. He says he's heard reports of bears on trail cameras in the Cold Spring area. Schmitt says this isn't the first time bears have been reported in Cold Spring and suspects it won't be the last.

The St. Cloud Police Department are reporting a burglary on 2500 block of 2nd Street South where a business was entered after hours and lottery tickets were taken.

The St. Cloud V.A. is offering a take back day where everyone can drop off unused and expired medications to have them disposed of safely. Jackie Stevenson from the St. Cloud V.A. explains this annual event is for veterans and the general public and all medications will be accepted.

The Right Thing to Do, the Joe Mauer story, is an event that will take place at the Moose Lodge #1400 this Friday. Former Twin Cities sportscaster Joe Schmidt has released the book "The Right Thing to Do, the Joe Mauer story".

Stearns County has put an application in to acquire 202 acres of park land near the golf course in Paynesville. Stearns County Commissioner Joe Perske joined me on WJON. He says the location of this potential park is just to the south and west of the golf course toward Lake Koronis.

The latest EPIC for Influencers event will take place tomorrow (Tuesday April 16) from 4-7 p.m. at the St. Cloud State University Fieldhouse. New Munich is a small town in western Stearns County with a population of 356. It is located just south of I94 along State Highway 237 (Main Street) and county roads 12 and 30. The stream trout season opens Saturday in Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. He says we have trout fishing options in every region of the state. That consists of rainbow, brown, and brook trout.

The Waite Park Police Department are reporting theft at a storage unit on the 500 block of 10th Avenue South. Alicia Mages from Tri-County Crime Stoppers says the lock was cut. The owner indicates some totes were taken that had tools and fishing gear.
