Becker Police Department Issues Statement Following Northern Metals Blaze
The Becker Police Department issued a statement this morning via Facebook following a fire that broke out at the Northern Metals facility Tuesday evening.
According to the release, 15 fire departments from around the state assisted in putting out the blaze on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to midnight . Then, 18 fire departments were called to help on Wednesday at midnight until 6 a.m.
According to Chief of Police Brent Baloun, Minnesota All Hazards Incidents Management Team was on scene to support emergency management. Fire crews will be on site all day today to continue monitoring the situation.
Local businesses in the industrial park area have been asked to direct their employees to use the Liberty Lane and Highway 10 access. The Hancock Street entrance is closed to the public.
