Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! A baby zebra was just born at Hemker Park & Zoo in Freeport over the weekend!

If you know anything about me, you know I'm a sap for baby animals. Did you know that a baby zebra is actually called a foal? It's true. They also typically weigh 70 pounds — that's a big baby!

The other really cool thing about fouls is they learn how to walk within about 60 minutes after their birth. That's amazingly fast. Can you imagine if humans could learn to walk like a zebra?!

We don't know many details about the new zebra, but one thing is for sure, it's a cutie. The zoo hasn't named him or her yet...so, you can still get your name suggestion in if you hurry.

Hemker Park & Zoo will be expecting the arrival of another baby zebra in October.

Several fans of the zoo congratulated the zebra mama and welcomed the foal to the world via social media.

Lori McNeil wrote, "Oh my, congratulations! Looks pretty frisky already too! Can't wait to visit!"

Kris Shutt appears to know something we don't commenting, "SHE is the most adorable baby! Congratulations!"

Kelli Jasper Klossner asked, "is baby in the viewing area? Would love to come see her/him!"

Hemker Park & Zoo responded to Kelli, "they are out for viewing."

You can go see the newest addition to the zoo family now. They're open now through the end of October.

We are beyond excited to announce our zebra family has grown!!! Help us welcome our new baby to our zoo family!...
